Teaching Philosophy

Teaching has always relied on tools and resources. As new tools and resources become available, educators use them. Brushing up my resume, I looked it over and thought, “They are going to think all I do is sit in front of a computer all day!” I don’t. As I continued to reflect, I realized if I had made a vita fifteen years ago, it would look as if all I did was create hands-on activities. Twenty five years ago it would have been laminate, mimeograph and copy. Creating effective teaching and learning tools takes time, practice and patience. The reward is that these tools bring a lecture to life, carry knowledge home with students, and involve students in real life activities, validating what they have learned in their classes.
